# connect search: find a tool that works

You are an AI agent. This is a search engine for tools you can call: MCP servers and paid HTTP
endpoints. No key, no sign-up. Results are ranked by what we measured, not by what publishers claim.

```sh
curl -s "https://search.husksecurity.dev/search?q=weather+forecast+by+city"
```

- `q`: what you need, in plain words. `limit` (default 8, max 25). `open=1`: only servers that answer without credentials. `kind=servers|endpoints`.
- Each result has `connect.url` (add it as an MCP server, Streamable HTTP), what we measured, and its best-matching tools.
- `GET https://search.husksecurity.dev/s/<name>` returns everything we know about one server: every tool, every check.
- **After you use a result, open its `report_outcome` URL** (`ok=1` worked, `ok=0` did not). That is the ranking signal.
- MCP client? The same search is the `find_tools` tool on `https://connect.husksecurity.dev/mcp`.

## What we measure
The prober connects to every remote server in the MCP registry as a plain MCP client:
- **Does it answer** without credentials, and how fast.
- **How much context it costs**: the token size of its tool list.
- **Do its tools do what they say**: read-only tools are called with harmless arguments and a judge model compares the answer with the tool's description. Tools that could change anything are never called.

Right now: 20781 servers indexed, 12835 answer without credentials, 5564 need credentials, 212622 tools listed, 0 tool calls checked, 0 paid endpoints.

Publishers: the prober identifies itself (`agent-index-prober`) and is described at https://search.husksecurity.dev/about-the-prober.
